AUKSO Orkiestra Kameralna Miasta Tychy

Aukso Chamber Orchestra of the city of Tychy was founded in February 1998 thanks to a joint initiative of a group of graduates of the Academy of Music in Katowice and Marek Moś, an outstanding violinist, conductor and chamber musician.

The orchestra's name refers to the Greek word 'aukso', which means 'growing'.  The word can characterize the professional directions taken by the chamber orchestra musicians, who continually hone their skills and take up new challenges.

The orchestra's repertoire includes classical, romantic and modern music, with special emphasis on Polish music.

Aukso Chamber Orchestra is the group that is considered the showcase of the city of Tychy, the region and also of the Polish culture. It has toured in a number of concert rooms across Europe, but also in Brazil and China, where it took part in the celebration of the Days of Polish Culture.

Aukso is the winner of numerous awards, among others the Fryderyk Award and the Marka Śląskie 2011 Award. The musicians constantly expand their repertoire, enjoy the ever-growing circle of loyal audience and enthusiasts of their art.  It is one of the most renowned European orchestras, which is - from the very beginning - characterized by individualism and which clearly makes its presence felt in the cultural life of Europe.
