Aukso x Bester Quartet

In the second half of the 1980s, the accordionist and composer Jarosław Bester formed The Cracow Klezmer Band, currently performing under the name of the Bester Quartet. Their unique original vision of klezmer music captivated the master John Zorn so much that he invited the Krakow band to cooperate with his cult label Tzadik Records. They have a natural ability to connect worlds, so they collaborated with outstanding representatives of the jazz, folk, avant-garde and classical scenes, including Zorn himself, Tomasz Stańka, Grażyna Auguścik, John McLean, Don Byron and Dorota Miśkiewicz. 2022 is the 25th anniversary of the band's activity, and therefore a good excuse to develop a retrospective program. In Tychy, we will hear new arrangements of Jarosław Bester's best compositions, in which he combined nostalgia for the past with a bold look at the present. There will also be new things, and therefore a step into the future.
