Parks, green squares and the surrounding forests - the residents of Tychy enjoy spending their free time in the city. It is no surprise - more than half of the surface of Tychy are green areas that give you the opportunity to relax.

Nearby forests provide conditions for active leisure - forest trails around Tychy are the place for walking, cycling, fast-paced nordic walking or horse riding.

The Paprocańskie Lake tis one of the most popular leisure spots - the foot and bike path surrounds the lake. Set on the lake bank, the Paprocany Resort is the place where large outdoor events, festivals, cycling enthusiasts gatherings, orienteering competitions, canoeing and sailing races are held.  The fishermen also take advantage of the proximity of the lake. On the west bank there is a fishing wharf where one can rent a boat. The park located near the resort is a place where the residents of the city can walk and relax from early spring to late autumn.

The public space offers a number of attractive meeting places - renovated squares enrapture the visitors with their neat form and tempt them to stop there for a moment. The St. Anne’s Square - formerly the main representative spot in the city - enchants the visitors with the architectural details (cornices, lesenes, atticas, arcades), the wealth of sculptural decorations (reliefs, zoomorphic plaques, sculptures).  An old fountain in its centre was rebuilt and today serves as a meeting place for the locals and as a children's playground.  The Market Square of Old Tychy is the place where in the fountain - referring to the pond that used to be located here - you can see three brass otters frolicking.  The refurbished Baczyński Square with a beautiful fountain, benches and restaurant gardens, attracts not only the residents of Tychy themselves and not only during holidays. The Baczyński Square is bustling with life 7 days a week.

There are almost 40 playgrounds for children, which are varied, fun and colourful. In the summer the water playground on Paprocany is the most popular place, attracting lovers of water games, who come not only from Tychy.  Elders use the skate park - the zone of the youth - in the Jaworek Park. This place, full of obstacles to do stunts on a skateboard, roller skates or bicycle, was designed according to their suggestions.

In the near future in the proximity of the Paprocany Resort a Water Park  will be built. The facility will house a complex of pools with movable bottom, a fitness zone, a gym and wellness zone, an indoor sauna zone, unique water slides, surfing simulator, and something that will be a novelty in Poland - an Aqualoop slide. The visitors will also have an opportunity to take a dip in...beer. The Water Park is supposed to be ready in the first half of 2017.

Outdoor gyms have also been created in the city  , which enjoy huge popularity among the locals.
